The 20th Century Onyx Club Debutante Information
To implement these endeavors, The 20th Century Onyx Club sponsors an annual debutante ball, a cotillion at which young ladies of African-American heritage are formally presented to society.  The program is also designed to develop leadership skills, encourage unity, and promote community service and academic excellence in young women through mentorship and life skills training. The process offers a wide range of social, personal, career and educational enrichment opportunities for high school seniors. Activities consist of workshops, community service, etiquette training and more.

Proceeds from the ball benefit the scholarship fund. In the Clubs history of more than forty years it has awarded more than $500.000.00 in scholarships to Ventura County African-American seniors, who have demonstrated academic excellence.
